  • Riverboat Technician (part time; swing shift)

  • Responsibilities


    The Riverboat Technician performs routine preventative maintenance and routine housekeeping tasks on the riverboat and land based facility and parking lot as needed. Participates in scheduled safety briefings, team meetings, and emergency response duties as assigned.

    • Performs general scheduled maintenance tasks and other work assigned including checking mooring lines and boarding ramp daily. Makes periodic rounds of the property to verify that machinery and equipment are functioning properly including checking the condition of fire and safety equipment.  Takes corrective action to remedy observed discrepancies. Assesses damage to riverboat and reports to the person in charge; reports any abnormal or unusual situations to the Assistant Captain of the Watch.
    • Trains on emergency equipment and participates in Station Bill drills.
    • Responsible for directing passengers and employees away from danger and to designated safe areas.
    • May be required to perform duties outside of normal job description where in the Company’s judgment it is necessary in the interest of efficiency, productivity, or improved customer service.

     SCHEDULE: SWING SHIFT (3:30 PM  to MIDNIGHT) - Friday, Saturday and Sunday 


    • High school diploma or equivalent; one or more years of deckhand experience is preferred. Prior experience in marine operations desired; general maintenance or construction experience preferred.
    • Must be 21 years of age.
    • Ability to operate equipment such as hand and power tools, emergency equipment, cleaning equipment, manlift and scissor lift.
    • Good oral communication skills, ability to follow directions, and the ability to communicate clearly and effectively over hand held radios. Must be able to listen and respond to visual and aural cues.
    • Ability to respond calmly and make rational decisions in emergency situations.
    • Ability to stand, sit, or lay for prolonged periods of time; Ability to work at heights of 40 feet.
    • Must be able to tolerate areas containing second hand smoke, varying noise and high temperature levels, illumination, vibration, crowds and air quality.
    • Physically mobile with reasonable accommodations including ability to push, pull, carry and lift up to 50 lbs., and the ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop, stack, crouch, kneel and balance when performing job duties in varying work areas such as confined spaces.
