The Controller oversees the operational accounting functions for the property; responsible for management of Accounting (including payroll), Income Control, Warehouse, and Count functions. Responsible for production of financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets.
The Controller has overall responsibility for the general ledger and close process and is responsible for reviewing, updating, and ensuring compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley narratives and Louisiana Gaming Regulations and Internal Controls. Responsible for all capital expenditure, fixed asset, cost tracking and reporting as well as all Federal and State tax returns. Effectively collaborates to provide assessments of economic impact of proposed transaction.
Serves as a leader for employees while fostering teamwork, employee morale, motivation and open communication. Provides direction and support for all staff to achieve Company goals and objectives through the fair and consistent application of policies and procedures. Span of control (direct and indirect reports) in financial reporting, income control, accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll.
Requires Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) from an accredited four-year college or university with four (4) years minimum experience performing accounting and financial analysis. Must have previous management experience. Previous casino/gaming experience highly preferred.
Must possess strong verbal and written communication, and organizational skills with high proficiency in Microsoft applications (Excel, Word).
Must be able to obtain a Louisiana Key Gaming License.
